Courses & Lessons

Weekly lessons

Prices shown are for daytime lessons: 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. Prices for evenings and weekends are shown in brackets.

Two hour lesson: £48 (£51)
Block of 10 hours: £228 (£240)

Many people like to have one regular lesson each week, but pupils using this method often take many months to learn to drive. Whilst this helps to spread out the cost, you may end up paying more in the long run. This is because you might forget what you have learned from one week to the next. The LD System helps to overcome this problem because you can use the materials to remind yourself of what you did during the last lesson whilst preparing for the next.

I recommend that pupils take at least one and a half to two hours' tuition per week, but the final choice is yours. You can pay for lessons individually or by a block discount, as shown above.

The LD Driving Skills Videos/DVDs and workbook are included free in the various courses, but for those of you taking weekly lessons the videos/DVDs can be borrowed (£20 refundable deposit), and I will give you the workbook free of charge.

With weekly lessons you can study for your theory test whilst taking your lessons, and I will book the driving test when we feel you are ready. This is ideal if you feel you may be put off by the extra pressure of having a test already booked.

One Week Pass Course: £776
This course usually starts on Monday and finishes on Friday. It is ideal if you are in a hurry and cannot otherwise find the time. If you want a test at the end of the course you would need to book the course and pass the theory test well in advance of the required start date. The driving test would usually be organised to take place at the end of the week or during the following week, but I can be flexible to your requirements. The in-car training is 30 hours on a one to one basis and includes two and a half hours for attending the driving test. When you add the home study using the LD driving videos/DVDs and workbook, the total duration is around 36-40 hours. Included in the price are the videos/DVDs and workbook, and the practical driving test (normal fee £56-50).

Semi-intensive Pass Course: £757
This course is identical to the One Week Pass Course except that the training is spread over two or more weeks to suit your schedule. This is the most popular and successful form of intensive training as it is designed for people who want to pass the test quickly but at a comfortable pace.

Test Booster Course: £427
This course is suitable if you are nearing test standard and just need a short burst of lessons prior to the test. It is also ideal if you have had an attempt at the test some time ago but haven’t had any lessons since. The in-car training is 15 hours on a one to one basis and includes two and a half hours for attending the driving test. When you add the home study using the LD driving videos/DVDs and workbook, the total duration is around 21-25 hours. Included in the price are the videos/DVDs and workbook, and the practical driving test (normal fee £56-50).

Midway Pass Course: £527
This course is ideal if you have already learned the basic control skills of driving. The in-car training is 20 hours on a one to one basis and includes two and a half hours for attending the driving test. When you add the home study using the LD driving videos/DVDs and workbook, the total duration is around 26-30 hours. Included in the price are the videos/DVDs and workbook, and the practical driving test (normal fee £56-50).

Pass Plus Course: £165
Pass Plus is a modular based training course specially designed by the Driving Standards Agency that benefits newly qualified car drivers by developing positive driving attitudes and skills. Various insurance companies support the scheme by offering discounted motor insurance. The practical in-car training consists of six hours on a one to one basis covering driving in town, in all weathers, on rural roads, at night, on dual carriageways and on motorways. You can benefit from insurance discounts by taking Pass Plus within twelve months of passing your test. Of course, even if you passed your driving test more than a year ago, you can still gain valuable experience from the course.
